MAKE A PILE FOR ITEMS TO TRASH. THESE ARE ITEMS THAT ARE BROKEN, DAMAGED, OR WORN DOWN TO THE POINT THAT THEY CANNOT BE SALVAGED OR REUSED.

It can be a difficult task to go through your space, let alone an entire house. However, if you tackle one room at a time, one drawer at a time, one closet at a time, it won’t seem so daunting. When you begin to search through your personal items, really ask yourself if you love the item. Do you love it, or is it just collecting dust? If it’s a hard no, then consider donating the item and clearing it from your space. Your goal is to surround yourself with things you love, and you don’t need a lot to accomplish this. Simplicity is perfect if that is your style.

If you really love everything you have, and feel that you need to keep it, then see if you can rework it into the space. If you are feeling cluttered, rearrange your items and see if the room feels different. Do you like how it feels? You will know right away if it works for you or not. The key is to have the space feel good to you, after all, you are the one living in it.

Surrounding yourself with items that you really love, items that bring you joy and make you feel good, does wonders for how you feel in your personal environment, and will help you create a perfect place to feel calm and supported as you go through transformation. If you are struggling anywhere in your life, having a comfortable warm place to come home to is a great way to get yourself feeling better.
